GUITARIST WANTED

Following last week's announcement that Laurent Schijns will leave LORD VOLTURE we now have a vacancy open for the position of lead/rhythm guitarist. We welcome any and all applications.

The guitarist we are looking for is a skilled player at both rhythm and lead guitars. Backing vocals are a big and important plus. We need someone who knows how to give a show and has experience playing live as well as on studio recordings.

We are not a band that has weekly or otherwise regular rehearsals. So applicants have to be able to practice the songs largely in their own time. We need someone who is independent, mobile, flexible and whose gear is in order.

Whenever opportunities arise we tour internationally, but a large number of our gigs is in the Benelux area. Being based in the Netherlands, Flanders or in Germany near the Dutch border is therefore pragmatic.

Last but not least, motivation is essential. You have to be in it for the music and for the adventure. Music is life and life is music.

Have you got what it takes? Hit us up by sending an email and tell us why you are the guitarist we are looking for. Please include some urls of videos of you playing the guitar. We look forward to meeting you!

BREAKING NEWS: LAURENT SCHIJNS LEAVES LORD VOLTURE

We have some sad news to share with you, as guitarist Laurent Schijns will be leaving LORD VOLTURE. Due to important changes in Laurent’s life, it will no longer be possible to match his agenda and that of the band.

A personal message from Laurent:

“With a heavy (metal) heart it saddens me to say that I have to leave LORD VOLTURE. Time passed way too quickly and I didn't expect to have to leave the band this soon. My professional interest in the medical field and developing medical devices is what led me to the difficult decision to quit the band."

"Dear Simon, David, Paul and Erik - I really want to thank you for the cool moments on and off the stage. Shredding twin leads, belting vocal lines and banging my head to the heavy metal LORD VOLTURE beat is something I will cherish for years to come. Because you guys are second to none!

"And to all the fans and friends that I have met on my LORD VOLTURE journey: I'm going to miss you! But remember, LORD VOLTURE will continue to kick heavy metal ass, and I can't wait to see what they've got in store!!!! ROCK ON!”

Laurent first performed with LORD VOLTURE as a session guitarist in 2019 and, after a 2-year break during COVID, he became a full-time band member in 2022. As a lead guitarist, Laurent has become an integral part of LORD VOLTURE and his precise play and shredding solos will be missed sorely. But also on a personal level Laurent is a great fit in the band and his shoes are going to be hard to fill. Although we very much regret Laurent’s departure, we also respect his decision and understand the circumstances that forced him to make this choice.

During the upcoming summer, there will probably be one or two final occasions to see Laurent live with LORD VOLTURE. So, keep an eye out for any concert announcements in July or August. We will soon start looking for a new full-time guitarist, so if you are interested and you think you got what it takes, don’t hesitate to hit us up! All shows booked for September and later will go on as planned.

We wish Laurent all the best in his career, musical endeavours and private life. Cheers mate!

CONCERT ANNOUNCEMENT: GENTBRUGGE, BELGIUM

We love it when a plan comes together! Following the earlier announcements this week of LORD VOLTURE's upcoming shows at Kraken Metal Fest (BE) and Holland Heavy Festival (NL) we are happy to share more gig news with you even before the week is out!

CONCERT ANNOUNCEMENT: BLATNÁ, CZECH REPUBLIC

October 2023 will see LORD VOLTURE return to Czech Republic! We are looking forward to revisit Blatná, our favourite town in the country, to play Hospoda Na Vinici for a third time!

The first time we played Na Vinici was on a Tuesday night in 2014 while on-route to Slovakia. It was the show with the biggest turn-out on that tour! Then we returned in 2018 together with our Swedish friends from MEAN STREAK. This time we will be joined by our brothers in arms IRON ECHO from Germany.

Then some other news, our upcoming gig with IRON ECHO in Waldbronn, Germany, scheduled for 25th February will be postponed to 27th October 2023. Find the updated touring schedule below.
